Polish Party February: Chevrons

Hi everyone

It's already nearly the end of February which means it's polish party time.

This month we have a new  Polish Party facebook page which is how we decided on the theme. Basically we set up a poll and each of us voted on our favourite. Chevrons won this month so here we go.

I have only attempted chevrons once before with disastrous results so I was not really looking forward to this theme. However after seeing someone on Instagram post about some nail guides they had just bought I went in search of them. I found them on eBay. You get 10 different designs for less than £5 bargain! These certainly made my life so much easier.

They are quite hard to photograph but here they are:

Ok so next I had to decide on colours! I toyed with a few ideas and decided to keep it simple and do a kind of gradient. I painted all my nails in the new models own hyper gel pink veneer. When this was fully dry I stuck my guide in place and painted the bottom part of my nail in cerise shine and the tip in white light. Except my ring finger where I did the opposite.

Here they are:

I am quite happy with how they turned out even though I wish I had photographed before I top coated as you can see I smudged them a little when applying my top coat :-(

Our little group is growing fast so be sure to check out everybody else's designs using the links below

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed creating them.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi everyone

I have been very ill this week so unable to do a new design, however I have a plan!
This weeks theme is the month you were born in. As I said due to being ill I have decided to use a design I did last summer as I was born in June.

Here it is:

So there we go I think this is quite summery and fits my birthday month well. I still really like this design I can't remember which other polishes I used but probably models own Snow White.

Sorry for the short post but I am still not feeling great but didn't want to miss a week of the challenge.

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi every one!

Ok so week three of the NailArtWeeklyProject is valentines!

What else could I do but hearts! I used my dotting tool to create the hearts using avon's ruby slippers which is my favourite red polish ever it's so sparkly.

Ok so here is what I created:

I quite like how this turned out apart from smudging it with my top coat :(

Thanks for looking

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi everyone!

So this is my take on week 2 of the NailArtWeeklyProject where the theme was tv/film.

It took me a little while to choose what to do for this one as there are loads of films I really like. In the end I went for a childhood favourite 101 Dalmatians.

Here is what I did:

My index finger is the title of the film, my middle finger represents the puppy called lucky (with the horse shoe pattern in his spots) my ring finger is another of the puppies faces and my pinky is just spotty.
I am quite happy with how these turned out.

Here is what I used:

I am totally loving the new models own hyper gels they go on so smoothly.

Let me know what you think.

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Thanks

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi all

So I am very excited to be involved in this new project set up by Danniannie where she sets a new theme each week. #NailArtWeeklyProject

The first week is an item of clothing.

I decided to go with something quite simple (as my first plan didn't work out)
Here is what I choose to do, my fav pj's

By the time I did this my brand new models own hyper gels had arrived and two of the colours were perfect for this.
So here is what I did:

To do the hearts I used a dotting tool and dragged diagonally.

I don't particularly love this mani and promise to do better this week but I was really pushed for time.
Here is a pic of them both together:

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Polish Party January: January blues

Hi all, i have had very little time recently to do my nails which really makes me sad. However things seem to be slowing down a little so I am hoping to get back on

So its that time of the month again Polish Party. This month the theme was January blues which pretty much left us open to do anything.

I decided to try a technique that i havn't done before using my fan brush.

Here is what I did:

To create this look I put drops of polish onto a piece of paper and the dipped my fan brush into each colour in turn and moved the brush from one side of my nails to the other starting with the darkest colour. I am still not sure if i really like this manicure but i will try the technique again using different colours.

here is what I used for this manicure:

Thanks for looking i hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.
