Nailsxo World Cup competition

Hi everyone

Today's post is about a completion I have entered.
It's hosted by Emily from Nailsxo it's based around the World Cup. Basically she choose everyone a country (at random) and we have to do nail art based on that country. If your team wins the World Cup then you win the prize. Emily has also kindly put up a second prize for the nail art that she loves the best.

I got Belgium and here is what I came up with.

I did the Belgium flag on 3 fingers then attempted a football pitch on my ring finger ( I recently had to cut my nails quite short so didn't really have room for this but already had the thought in my head so I went with it anyway) for my thumb I recreated the date logo for the World Cup.

You can check the progress of  all the teams and see everyone else's designs over at Nailsxo

I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Polish Party May: Splatter

Hi everyone.

Today's post is this moths polish party, the theme we decided on this moth was splatter.

I have never tried this technique before so I was pretty excited to get started. First thing was to decide on colours. As I am still loving models own polish for tans collection I decided these nails had to incorporate at least some of this collection, I figured they would show up best against a white base. So here is what I came up with.

Apologies for my messy clean up! But this is such a messy technique although lots of fun to do. If I were to do this kind of mani again I would definatley use tape to make clean up much easier. To get this look just paint your nails in a solid colour then using a straw paint the bottom of it and blow towards your nail. Make sure to use lots of newspaper as I said this is very messy!!

I am not sure how I feel about this design as I like things to be uniform and these are far from!

I used models own Snow White and two of the polish for tans, sun hat and flip flop.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Thanks for reading.

Polish Party April: Inspired by another PP member.

Hi everyone.

Let me start by saying I was really upset to not be able to find the time to do last months Polish Party, don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of doing your nails?

Anyway enough waffling onto this months challenge. I am really excited about this one as there are so many talented ladies that take part in this challenge so lots of designs to choose from.
The first two designs I chose were done by other people before I did mine. So I went back to look at everyone's designs again. I instantly loved the design I have chosen and I also have just bought the models own polish for tans collection so knew I wanted to use a few colours.

I choose a design by the lovely Aimee from PinkGlowPrettyPolish I'm not sure if she actually blogged this design (I couldn't find it on her blog) but Aimee's blog is amazing! Go check it out. I found this picture on Aimee's Instagram @pinkglowspolish.

Ok so this is the design I was inspired by:

I really liked this and how the colours all compliment each other.

Ok so onto my design I didn't want to "copy" Aimee's design exactly as the theme is inspired by. So I decided to use 3 colours from the polish from tans collection by models own. I used sun hat, beach bag and bikini. Instead of the vertical lines I decided to do zigzags as I am no good at free handed
lines.

Here it is:

I really like how this turned out and really love the polish for tans. I really hope I have done justice to Aimee's original design.

 Another picture of my mani:

Thanks again to Aimee  for the inspiration. Everyone go check her out.

Thanks for looking.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi everyone.

So it's the last week of this project. It's gone really fast I and have really enjoyed taking part. Thanks to Dannie from Gingerbreadsmiles   for setting up this challenge.

This week it's glitz and glam. I toyed with a few ideas as I don't wear glitter very often! Mainly due to the time it takes to remove even with the tin foil technique.
Anyway enough waffling here is what I came up with.

I used models own southern lights and sinful colours black on black. To do the flower I used my dotting tool and for the other fingers I used striping tape.

Here is a blurry picture to show the amazing colours in southern lights it really is a gorgeous glitter.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Thanks for looking

Polish Party February: Chevrons

Hi everyone

It's already nearly the end of February which means it's polish party time.

This month we have a new  Polish Party facebook page which is how we decided on the theme. Basically we set up a poll and each of us voted on our favourite. Chevrons won this month so here we go.

I have only attempted chevrons once before with disastrous results so I was not really looking forward to this theme. However after seeing someone on Instagram post about some nail guides they had just bought I went in search of them. I found them on eBay. You get 10 different designs for less than £5 bargain! These certainly made my life so much easier.

They are quite hard to photograph but here they are:

Ok so next I had to decide on colours! I toyed with a few ideas and decided to keep it simple and do a kind of gradient. I painted all my nails in the new models own hyper gel pink veneer. When this was fully dry I stuck my guide in place and painted the bottom part of my nail in cerise shine and the tip in white light. Except my ring finger where I did the opposite.

Here they are:

I am quite happy with how they turned out even though I wish I had photographed before I top coated as you can see I smudged them a little when applying my top coat :-(

Our little group is growing fast so be sure to check out everybody else's designs using the links below

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed creating them.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi everyone

I have been very ill this week so unable to do a new design, however I have a plan!
This weeks theme is the month you were born in. As I said due to being ill I have decided to use a design I did last summer as I was born in June.

Here it is:

So there we go I think this is quite summery and fits my birthday month well. I still really like this design I can't remember which other polishes I used but probably models own Snow White.

Sorry for the short post but I am still not feeling great but didn't want to miss a week of the challenge.

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

NailArtWeeklyProject

Hi every one!

Ok so week three of the NailArtWeeklyProject is valentines!

What else could I do but hearts! I used my dotting tool to create the hearts using avon's ruby slippers which is my favourite red polish ever it's so sparkly.

Ok so here is what I created:

I quite like how this turned out apart from smudging it with my top coat :(

Thanks for looking

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.
