Polish Party May: Splatter

Hi everyone.

Today's post is this moths polish party, the theme we decided on this moth was splatter.

I have never tried this technique before so I was pretty excited to get started. First thing was to decide on colours. As I am still loving models own polish for tans collection I decided these nails had to incorporate at least some of this collection, I figured they would show up best against a white base. So here is what I came up with.

Apologies for my messy clean up! But this is such a messy technique although lots of fun to do. If I were to do this kind of mani again I would definatley use tape to make clean up much easier. To get this look just paint your nails in a solid colour then using a straw paint the bottom of it and blow towards your nail. Make sure to use lots of newspaper as I said this is very messy!!

I am not sure how I feel about this design as I like things to be uniform and these are far from!

I used models own Snow White and two of the polish for tans, sun hat and flip flop.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Thanks for reading.

  3. It's definitely a messy design, I did attempt this one but the splats just came out as blobs. (Must have been doing it wrong!) Great colour combination and a different way to use the newly released Model's Own polishes. :)

    1. It certainly is messy but fun! Some of my splats came out as blobs too noticeable on my thumb and middle finger, I think it just takes a bit of practice, thank you :-)
