Polish Party December: black and white

Hi all

So this months polish party theme is black and white.

I actually really struggled to come up with something using just these colours! I am sure there are a thousand different things I could have done but nothing really took my fancy. So I decided to re do some butterfly nails that I previously did in pink. I think this looked better in my head than it does on my nails but here it is anyway.

I'm not sure if I cheated a little by adding models own Jack Frost to the centres of the wings (apologies if I did but it is kind of white) but I definitely think it needed something!

So here is what I used for this mani:

So there we have it my black and white design.

Polish Party November: Disney

Hello everyone!

So its Party time again, Polish Party that is, this month we choose the theme Disney.
Initially I had so many ideas as I love Disney. I then remembered the adorable little bows I bought from she sells seashells which is one of my favorite shops! I knew then i had to do Minnie and Micky Mouse.

Whilst googling some ideas i came across this tutorial of the magic kingdom by Cutepolish and knew I had to include it in my design.

Anyway here is the finished mani:

After i had done the prints on my thumb and pinkie I decided to be brave and do Micky and Minnie's faces. I am so happy with how they turned out. I then finished the mani with the magic kingdom on my middle finger.

Here is a close up of each finger:

Here is another photo holding my OPI vintge minis:

I used quite a lot of different polishes and tools to create this mani but here are the basics:

Movember Manicure

Hi all,

I am so bad at this! Its been so long since i last did a blog post sorry for that!

Ok so today i have my Movember Mani, I really loved doing this mani. Its very simple but effective well I think so anyway.

Here it is:

To do this mani i simply painted my nails with two coats of models own scented pastels strawberry tart and bluberry muffin. I then placed the stickers (from new look) on my nails and using a nail art pen addded hair to each little person. I'll say again this mani was such fun to do and i love the way it turned out. It even made it into Grazia lives competion!

Here is what i used:

Thanks for looking! i hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Polish Party October: Halloween

Hi all,

So its the end of the month again which means its time for a Polish Party mani. This month we went with the obvious choice of Halloween.
I have been so busy latley leving hardly any time for my nails which makes me very sad :-(

Anyway onto my mani, its not very original however i do really like how it turned out. The insperation is Jack from nightmare before Christmas. So here it is:

To create this mani i painted all my nails black, then on all but my ring finger and thumb I put striping tape on and painted the nails white. For my thumb i used scotch tape then painted the middle white, using a dotting tool for the buttons and nail art pen for the bow tie. For my ring finger (Jack) i freehanded a skull shape in white then used a nail art pen for the details.

I love pumpkins so had to get one in here somehow:

A better picture of jack and his suit.I find it hard to hold my hand in this postion so please excuse the pic:

Here is what i used for this mani:

Be sure to check out all the other Polish Party mani's links below.

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoyed creating them.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hi everyone,

October is breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is something that is very close to my heart as both my Grandmothers have suffered with this dredfull illness. Cancer has also affected other members of my family and friends in other forms. I myself have had cancerous cells removed. anyway onto what i am doing to show my suport.

Over on twitter a few of us are doing pink nail designs posting and retweeting each others. This was all organised by the lovely Josephine Jakobs. there have been a lot of gorgeous designs flying about. check them out using the hashtag BCAM.

First thing i did was get all my pinks out. I discovered i had quite a few pinks. Over 50 as it turned out (yes they are all different ha ha)

The first design I did I called putting the pieces back together after breast cancer. I painted all my nails white then used two square pieces of sotch tape to cover the white and painted my nail pink. For my accent nail I painted it white then used a dotting tool to create the breast Cancer ribbon.
 Here it is:

For this i used: Models Own Snow White
OPI Kiss me on my tulips
Nails Inc base and Top coat

I am really pleased with how this turned out.

The next mani i have done represents hope and new beginings. Here is what i did: I painted all my nails in pink then using a nail art pen drew on the outline of the butterfly wings and filled in the tip of my finger. I then used a lighter pink to put small random shapes inside the black outline and dots on the tips. For my accent finger i stuck pink gems (although they look clear in the pics) in the shape of the Breast Cancer ribbon.
Here it is:

For this I used: Models Own Bubblegum
                       Models Own Strawberry Tart
Models Own nail art pen (black)
Nails Inc base and Top coat.

I am very pleased with this design.

I plan on doing more BCAM nail art through out October keep your eye on my twitter for future designs. I couldnt wait any longer to share this with you.
Maybe you would like to join in this great awareness project just use the hashtag BCAM on twitter and @josephineJakobs, she is planning to do somthing with all the designs.

I am really enjoying creating these designs and seeing everyone elses.

Thanks for looking I hope you enjoy this as much as i enjoyed creating it.

Polish Party September: Autumn

Ok so this is my first (hopefully of many) Polish Party challenge mani.
We decided that Autumn should be our fisrt theme.
I went to my polish collection and pulled out all my Autumn colours. I spent hours playing around with them trying different designs. I wasnt happy with any of them So i stopped and thought what is the first thing i think of when i think of Autumn. The answer trees and leaves and all the different colours they turn. So this is what i came up with.

To create the trees i used a brown/gold nail art pen then used a sponge to put different colours on to create the look of leaves. I decided that the plain brown nails were not enough. But that trees on every finger would be too much. So i decided to do a gradient in some autumn colours on the rest of my fingers again using a make up sponge.

A close up of the accent nail.

What better place to take pictures than out among the Autumn leaves.

Here is what I used to create this manicure:

What do you think should I have left the nails pain? or does the gradient look better, i still cant decide.

Thanks for looking Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Animal print nails

Ok so last week I started playing around with some animal prints!

I really liked all the designs! But as giraffes are my favourite animal I decided to do this.
I didn't love the colours I had used on my practice so I decided to find better colours.

Here are the polishes I used:

Nails inc base and top coat
Avon lemon sugar
BarryM blueberry
Models own nude beige

So to the manicure I painted all my nails in lemon sugar except my ring finger which I painted with blueberry. I then did random shapes on top of the yellow with nude beige. Over the blue finger I created a giraffe. I finished with a too coat. Here it is!!

Thanks for looking! I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
